Menlo Park: Ex-employee gets jail for stealing city's gas

A former Menlo Park public works employee charged with stealing gas from city-owned pumps has been sentenced to 60 days in county jail and three years of supervised probation.

I certainly hope the gas was worth your job with the city. AND, stealing city property. A police badge? You are hard up and a thief.

how much pension does mr. alvarez collect from the city and will it still be paid now that he's a convicted thief?

Under the 2013 pension law change, job related felony convictions result in forfeiture of all or a portion of the employee pension.
