Mission Hospice asks for $2,000,000 from Sequoia Healthcare District

Original post made by Jack Hickey, Woodside: Emerald Hills, on Jun 3, 2014

Sequoia Healthcare District(SHD) will be considering a Pledge Of Up To $2 Million Dollars Towards Mission Hospice's Capital Campaign For A Hospice House.
As reported in an earlier topic, Web Link Mission Hospice is under the impression that the Sequoia Healthcare District is a Foundation. It is, in fact, a government agency funded by property taxes.
In annual reports since 2008, Mission Hospice has been listing the District as a Foundation when reporting Grants it has received. See page 11 of their 2012 annual report Web Link
The Peninsula Healthcare District is also listed as a Foundation. These two government agencies are the only ones listed in an otherwise outstanding array of donors to this worthy organization. It is a shame that they have tarnished their image by accepting grants from the pseudo-philanthropic Healthcare Districts.
Anyone wishing to express their opinion can do so by attending tomorrow's meeting Web Link or, contact Mission Hospice CEO Dwight Wilson, dwilson@missionhospice.org (650) 554-1000
