City moves to limit use of surveillance data

In a rare split for the current Menlo Park City Council, members voted 3-2 to take the first step toward enacting an ordinance governing the use of surveillance data by law enforcement, despite the police department's opposition.

Naw, nothing can go wrong when some of society's most trusted, upstanding members - such as a police chief - spy on citizens.
