Thank you duly elected Councilmembers, esp Shanahan for setting straight certain Asrb appointees who are attempting to undermine professional planning and engineering Staff, as well as Planning Commission , by attempting to hijack the State mandated process of Land Use Planning and Development process and protocol that is carefully articulated in the Towns recently adopted General Plan and Residential Design Guidelines, as well as the longstanding Zoning, Natural Grade maintenance and Grading Ordinances that give quantitative parameters that all development proposals must adhere to, in compliance with State mandates
What we witnessed tonite are certain asrb appointees who believe they have supernatural decision making powers that should be deferred to by professional staff, duly qualified Planning Commission, and duly elected Town Council
Chutzpah barely describes what we heard tonite Noticeably absent was Asrb appointee Anderson, whose comments on projects borders on the absurd!!
No wonder there have been resignations from asrb in the last year by well qualified appointees out of disgust in listening to some of the control freaks asrb members with no professional knowledge or training bad mouthing carefully designed projects that staff has vetted before bringing to asrb for conceptual review
Witness the lack of applicants for planning commission vacancies over the last year!!
Until the council gets control of the asrb appointees and gives them proper direction on their proper role any applicant and their professional architects will be subject to "theatre of the absurd" when presenting conceptual review to the current asrb
Do we want to regress to what the Grand Jury described not long ago called a broken planning process and the days of the Hope Sullivan regime that promulgated an atmosphere of fear and distrust of the planning process in Woodside??
Don't miss out
