While I do not favor the death penalty, I do like very much a sentence of life without parole. Not only does it cost the state (US!) much less, but also it gives the perpetrators a long time to consider how they lived their lives and perhaps repent. The death penalty is an easy way to deal with issues, but it's in the "eye for an eye..." category. As Gandhi observed, it makes the whole world blind!
