Menlo Park police launch bike registration service

It's a given that bikes attract thieves, and no lock is perfect. Now, the Menlo Park police are trying to make recovering your bicycle post-theft a little easier by launching a registration program.

Thank you for this story. This has been publicized elsewhere and I've been meaning to do it. Finally did it; thanks for the reminder. I would suggest that the Police Department add a schematic of the possible locations of the serial number, which is not necessarily obvious. I had to google that information. And I was unable to find a place to upload a photo to the police database, in spite of what the article says. Does anyone have a link to this DB?

According to the MPPD, if you want to submit images you can send a photo of the bike and a photo of the serial number, along with your first and last name, to gesepulveda@menlopark.org.
