But the article forgot to mention that the Atherton PD owns current mayor Cary Wiest and former mayor Elizabeth Lewis.

So true.

"“Almost nobody from Atherton ever gets a ticket.” From February to July, exactly two Atherton residents got cited; most other tickets were given to residents of nearby Redwood City or East Palo Alto, where people are much more likely to drive brownly."

I lived in Lindenwood for a decade and wow, they let me off every time. Tried to NOT change the address on my CDL for years. Was the equivalent of a Monopoly card.

Tree lined, wide residential streets, with 200+ foot fronts... how do you not speed?
