There is an additional emergency alert resource through the San Mateo County Community Alert System www.smcalert.info. You can register for all the cities or communities in which you'd like to receive alerts including where you work, where your children may attend schools, etc. you can also select to be notified by email or text, etc. My husband was out of town but called me to make sure we were all ok because he received the shelter in place message via his phone, a great resource!

San Mateo County as said by Renee as a system in place and Menlo Park can send messages as the county does in these cases. Let's spend some more money on overlapping systems in place. ????"....Why did it take so long to get these messages, when it was a shelter in place? Let's get it together MPPD...Consolidation of county services sounds like a pretty good idea!
