Why doesn't Planning Staff and Planning Commission uphold the parking requirements? Those minimal requirements are there to prevent overflow parking on residential streets. Come on Planning - Do Better!!

Decisions like this to ignore the SP parking requirements make a mockery of the planning process. Certain things are discretionary, with commission or council approval, but the parking requirements are not among them. This is the second time this has happened. The first was for the conversion to hotel on Glenwood where the hotel can count public street parking towards their onsite parking requirements.
Looks as if the store was given away and the residents are the ones with no power.
