Menlo Park: 'Shelter in place' alert lifted

A shelter in place alert issued for residents and businesses near the 1300 block of Hoover Street in Menlo Park has been lifted now that a gas leak has been contained.

I got notice from both the city and the police but not from SMCalert. I thought an incident like this would cause an alert in the county. Not everyone who might be in Menlo Park lives in Menlo Park.

I live across the street from the site and no one in the house received any explanation of the street closure even though there was a strong smell of gas.
