SLAC develops 'accelerator on a chip,' journal reports

Researchers at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in Menlo Park have successfully used a laser to accelerate electrons at a rate 10 times higher than conventional technology -- and in a glass chip smaller than a grain of rice.

Hello,

I thought this was interesting, that so much stock in a 2-mile run built using state-of-the-art technology, to now be reduced to just 100 feet...by state-of-the-art technology. I guess a snake that eventually grows so long where it can't see it's head does eats its own tail.

Please be careful with that much energy in such a compressed space, especially if you're not familiar with dimensional space math. Please beware that if you can't make and measure a black hole then you might create one depending on many variables seen and unseen. Thank you
