Discussions on "legitimate" rape? What are you talking about? Do you mean "legitimate discussions" on rape? Even if you do, the LA Times article you included talks about content that has nothing to do with legitimate discussions of anything. The content in question is vile and reprehensible. And on a "social media" outlet. What on earth is your point?

The subjects being censored by Facebook are little different from the "legitimate rape" issue discussed in the latest US elections by multiple Republican candidates. Whether or not you think these candidates are "vile and reprehensible", should a corporation be actively censoring their ideas in widely used public forums?

Are we reading the same LA Times article? The one linked in the original post includes: (The protesters) pointed to pages with titles such as "Kicking your girlfriend in the fanny because she won't make you a sandwich" and "Violently raping your friend just for laughs" and photographs of women bruised, tied up and bleeding with captions such as "Next time don't get pregnant."
What does that have to do with candidates or a discussion of "legitimate rape"? I said the postings are "vile and reprehensible," not your phantasmal "candidates", whoever they are. The Times article refers to hate messages posted by users with warped, infantile senses of humor. What's being removed aren't discussions. They're malicious postings.

I'm with WhoR & MV. Fringe folks will always find ways to discuss reprehensible subjects as if they're viable ideas & they'll always complain about their rights being infringed, even if that's not the case.
Don't miss out
on the discussion!
