OK, so one council member says there was nothing in the report that he didn't already know. Another council member "warned" the folks at the meeting that they need to "listen" once the budget comes out because its a money issue. These are members of the same City Council in the same city who will immediately throw dollars at any issue that is raised by residents of either Allied Arts or Linfield Oaks neighborhoods regardless of the merits of the issue. Shameful. Is there seriously anyone following the Housing Element issue who doesn't think they pushed this problem off on Bellehaven?

Would be great if there was space in the same block as a police substation for basic services such as a bank. Knowing the police are next door or down the block could quell the fears of businesses regarding safety. Also, an increase in density from new housing developments could provide critical mass for potential business's to perceive sufficient demand. But, in conjunction w this , the community would need the generous folks at Facebook and others to continue to provide support to improve local schools, library, etc and of course the community itself will need to band together to foment positive change - for instance - hold weekend clean up projects, garden planting, book exchanges, etc.
