I wish they would give more notice of these meetings. Why the daytime meeting?. It feels like they are trying to discourage the public from attending.

Taking back the school from GAIS means yet another school bond. In just the last few years MPCSD has floated over $110M in bonds and now they are quietly going down the road of adding $20M-$30M more. Tossing out a rent paying tenant, increasing administrative costs and bonding for another whole school site overhaul. Do we really need all this?

I am deeply concerned with the "secrecy" in which this situation is being handled. Public meetings with little notice and held at an inconvenient time making it nearly impossible for the public to be heard.
I also question the need for a $20-30 million dollar bond for a new elementary school. With the last bond of $100 million, 3 schools were renovated, including major building construction at Encinal and Oak Knoll AND a complete leveling of Hillview and the building of a brand new school. I don't understand the need for a bond of this magnitude for a smallish elementary school.
To the School Board and Superintendent Ghysels, please explain your rationale.

Sounds like they are looking to build a new crown jewel to outshine hillview, not an elementary school. This is a public school, remember, paid for by our tax payer dollar. Great schools are about great teachers, not great buildings.
