The City manager previously claimed to have conducted his own investigation, remember? Yes, he was pressured into hiring an outside investigator - someone who actually interviewed those who witnessed the harassment in the gym. If he doesn't disclose the findings he won't have to admit that a huge mistake was made in firing Teacher Michelle. He won't have to take action to clean up the Community Services Department. So much easier to just stay the course and claim not to believe anything that the current and former teachers have to say about the toxic workplace environment. If the results of the investigation are kept under wraps, he can just claim there was no evidence of any wrongdoing, even if the details in the report prove otherwise. He can tell the Council and the concerned parents that his investigation turned up nothing. Move along now..

An investigation whose findings are not revealed to the very public that pressured the city to conduct it may as well be no investigation at all. We already got that sort of investigation with Alex McIntyre's so-called investigation. Unless the investigation results in both the reinstatement of Michelle Sutton and an overhaul of the gymnastics program administration, the new investigation will only add insult (i.e. pointless expense) to injury.
