Getting tough on distracted drivers

If you're not paying attention to what's happening in front of you while moving down the road, chances are that you're engaged in distracted driving. If you make a routine of this kind of thing, April could be the cruelest month for you.

The fines for distracted driving are too lenient. That sends the wrong message. Distracted driving is just as dangerous to pedestrians as drunk driving and the penalties and enforcement need to be the same. We need $1000 fines for the first offense and mandatory jail time for the second offense.

Thank you! If only this sort of enforcement were ongoing. After all, driver accidents are year-round. Poor driving should never be tolerated.
