Portola Valley volunteers chafe over limits on their affordable housing role

There are many avenues of inquiry into the topic of affordable housing in Portola Valley: Why is the state inserting itself into local affairs? Is socio-economic diversity important? It's complicated and controversial, but for the nine members of the Ad Hoc Affordable Housing Committee, these topics are unavailable.

Just pay in lieu fees to the state for the right to keep the poor away from the snobs.
