Was any car found abandoned at one of the trailheads? As far as I know, those trails are not accessible via public transit.

Car, if the remains were skeletal, then they would have been there quite some time. A car left at a trailhead by the individual would almost certainly have been towed long ago.

@Dumb - even if the car was towed years ago, there would still be a record of the tow, right??? They didn't just throw it off a cliff.

My hope is that you will find a kind way to respond to one another. I can't imagine either of you are hoping to hurt someone you don't even know. What do you gain, and what do you potentially harm? Is it worth it?
