Atherton: Compensation cuts OK'd by council

The town of Atherton's unrepresented employees will take a hit in their total compensation package, as expected, but under a new plan worked out by the employees and the city manager, and approved by the City Council, the blow will be softened by a 3.5 percent pay hike.

This was a wise decision, and other municipalities should follow suit if they have not adopted similar measures.
