There are long standing, well documented, scientific reasons that the results of POLYGRAPH tests are not admissible in a court of law. The unfortunate slang term of "lie detector" is a misnomer. The machines measure bodily reactions--its well proven that they cannot be relied upon to accurately detect a lie vs a truth. So, this is not a good idea, but it is good PR. Won't resolve any real issues, would add some costs, but, hey, who really wants to address the root causes of the problem anyway.

"Lie detector" tests aren't accurate. I've known people that have "beat" the lie detector. From what I've read, sociopaths have no trouble passing because they are chronic liars that have no compunction against lying. The lie detector relies upon honest people to feel guilty about telling a lie. It causes their pulse, respiration and galvanic response to change. If it doesn't change, as far as the lie detector is concerned, you haven't lied.

We know what it means when a person offers to take a "lie detector" test to prove they are telling the truth. The truth will eventually find its way, and lies only serve to lubricate the pipes as the liars flush their credibility down the toilet.
