Atherton council to slow compensation cuts

As expected, the newly configured Atherton City Council rescinded its Nov. 28 adoption of a resolution that would cut compensation for 10 unrepresented town employees, while making it clear that it still supports the underlying policy of reducing employee costs overall.

If the final draft was hammered out before November, the council should have released it then and let the citizens comment on it.
