Pearl Harbor Day, no mention in any San Mateo County Newspaper.

Original post made by Michael G. Stogner, another community, on Dec 7, 2012

How quickly we forget, I don't recall anytime in my life that this day wasn't remembered. Over 2400 Americans were killed 71 years ago today, I have not forgotten. I don't know what happened I hope we can learn from this and get it back.

I saw very little on the news yesterday about Pearl, only a PR piece about the military channel's new documentary (on MSNBC of all places.... I channel surf TOO MUCH!)

They image-stabilized the already rare Japanese aerial footage of the attack, seems worth checking out.

As far as newspapers.... given the ever shrinking size of newspapers in the last decade, not surprising.

Relevancy?

Pearl: 2.5K dead, 71 years ago
Sept 11: 3K dead, 11 years ago
Iraq, 10 years: 5K US military killed
US, 2008: 11,493 homicides by firearms in US (source: CDC)

Jerry Brown issued a state proclamation for Pearl Harbor Day, including historical information and remembering the veterans. I saw that covered by some local newspapers.
