When rain causes fire

Electrical fires are known for being impervious to water, a truth demonstrated in the rain over nearly two hours early Thursday morning (Nov. 29) at the corner of Princeton Road and Cambridge Avenue in the Allied Arts neighborhood of Menlo Park.

Cool!

Growing up I remember stories like this -- when newspapers were funded by subscriptions and had a near lock on local advertising and could afford local newsrooms staffed by eager reporters. Seeing 'little' news like this reminds me that we've gotten to the point now where everything has to be "free" ... and the only news that gets printed is Big and Important and amazingly uninformative.

Glad the firefighters could make an informed decision and that PG&E was able to turn off the juice -- and get it on again.
