Farmers' market to return to Skylonda

Original post made on Sep 12, 2012

The Woodside Town Council found a way last night (Tuesday, Sept. 11) to allow a popular farmers' market to return to Skylonda in a parking lot near the corner of Skyline Boulevard and Highway 84, but residents will have to continue driving down the hill for their fresh fruits and vegetables for another month.

Skyline Blvd. *is* Hwy. 35. Perhaps you mean Highway 84?

Editor's note: Yes, Highway 84. Thanks for the correction.

Yay! I hope the farmers' market is back up and running soon. Thank you to all the folks working to make this happen and to the town council for responding so quickly.

A hullabaloo and much ado over the letter of the law. Thankfully we will have perhaps a month or so of the wonderful farmers' market (ie "food Store") before it will pack up for the winter. We are optimistic it can be a permanent option in 2013 and maybe the Woodside flats residents will make way for one in their neighborhood once the zoning issues have been modified. With gratitude for all who helped find a way to push it through...
