Kathy McKeithen knows better than to try to run again. It would surly result in a humiliating defeat. Ms. Kuperman is closely allied with Ms. McKeithen and would expect the same result.

Factors McKeithen is probably weighing:
Positives:
1. She wants to see her projects carried through and knows how to win.
2. As more candidates file, her chances improve.
Negatives:
1. She ran on term limits in 2000 and if re-elected this will be her fourth term. Smith McKeithen might run instead.
2. She has taken a position on the Library in the Park. She can not simply campaign on Transparency, Accountibility, and Responsible Stewardship.

Kathy McKeithen has contributed years of her life to to serving on Atherton's Town Council. She was elected three times by her neighbors.
If Ms. McKeithen chooses to run again, she has a significant record and her neighbors can easily decide to continue to support her or not. If Ms. McKeithen does not run, a simple thank you for serving three terms would be highly appropriate.
