$13.9M to support one visit a week (74 last year compared to 2,121 at the Port of Oakland, though Oakland is a container port and RC is for bulk goods). With muni bonds at about 4%, that would be about $550K a year financing costs, or $10K a week as a rough estimate, plus operating costs. Any idea:
1) what revenues result from a ship visit, and who receives them?
2) who is paying for this upgrade?

With global warming expected in increase the sea level 1Meter by 2100, please plan for that in the port's modernization plans. I like this idea.

This project is going to happen -- it starts next month. I think it's great that the harbor area will get fixed up. I hope that the long-hoped-for RWC-SF ferry will be implemented and that a redesigned saltworks development gets started soon too.

sounds like a good deal when you compare it to the 35 million for the South San Francisco Ferry terminal that serves less than 300 people per day.
