A very sad story, but it would be nice to know at least a little more. The victim does have some privacy rights but was anybody asked: Did he go off the road? Found on the roadway or in the woods? Was there any sign of another vehicle involved? Indications of malfunction?

Beyond newsworthiness and settling curiosity, these facts would be helpful to others in the community to understand what might have happened and how it might be avoided in the future.

I was at the scene but when I arrived he was already on the ground attended by a follow cyclist. We asked him what happen, he told us he was walking his bike but at that time I thought he was going into shock and/or had a concussion. Just seeing his injuries, I personally did not think it came from a fall from walking the bike BUT if he was having a heart attack... that might explain the "fall". I did not look at his bike in details, not knowing which was his since there were 3 other bikes (2 from follow cyclists helping the victim) but all 3 bikes looked in tact. We tried to keep him alert until help arrived. It is truly a sad story... please ride safe everyone!
