There is no such committee and I am certainly not a member of any organized group on either the Library or the Town Center. It is a logical fallacy that the Citizens' interest in where the new library should be located is somehow connected to the Town Center project.

The fact is that our elected officials are split 3-2 on an issue which involves the long term location of the Town's only library in the Town's only Park. The citizens wish to be heard on this issue and the current petition will ensure a Special Meeting of the Town Council that will permit them to be heard.

As you can see, most of the individuals opposed to building the library in the park are on this committee.

Thanks for quoting the constitution. Of course it's up to voters to determine "common good." I say Fisher and her group want to get the library money for the Town Center. My analysis is above.

I'm hoping I'm wrong, that the money truly is not going to come from the library, and that Didi Fisher, Jerry Carlson, Elizabeth Lewis, Rose Hau, Steve Dostart, John Shenk and Phil Lively can let us know how much they have pledged for the new Town Center.

I guess we're not going to get an answer to the question:

"Will Didi Fisher et al. make a contribution to the cause they claim is being funded by private contributions (and not the library)?"

so it's clear the purpose of the special meeting is not to get money away from the library to the Town Center.

I wrote the agenda and my motivations are VERY clear - to ensure that the citizens will have the opportunity to speak out on these issues. I have NOT taken a position on where the new library should be located or on the Town Center BUT I have taken a position on the right of the citizens to be heard.

What are your motivations - beside casting aspersions?
