Many thanks to Fire Chief Dan Ghiorso of the Woodside Fire Protection District and the 71 firefighters from 7 agencies who successfully contained the fire on Bear Gulch Road. It is tragic that one home was completely destroyed. But it is almost a miracle that the fire did not spread to many more homes on the hill and to the surrounding forest. This is a tribute to the intelligent, determined and well-executed work of our local team of professionals. As home owners on Bear Gulch, my husband and I sincerely appreciate the work done by the firefighters. We are lucky to have all of you on the job!

Feel sad for the family who lost their house, also feel gratitude to the firefighters who contained the fire without more widespread damage.
