It would a shame if a number of interesting and qualified candidates step forward to use the new channel of Americans Elect, only to have them fail for want of sufficient interest on the part of voters. It would seem that one of them, at least, could attract 10,000 people in a country of 350 million, considering how many are tired of the current gridlock and partisan polarization. But, may be the ten minutes it takes to sign on to AE is just too much for most folks...it's only our country that hangs in the balance.

I really do wish her well after reading about her efforts and her caring and am also very familiar with Harare, Zimbabwe, where I had a Dutch friend who lived there until his wife and two beautiful children were killed during an uprising....one of many which left his dreamlike life as a doctor, shattered and without a family.
What she is trying to do is noble and worthwhile running in Americans
Elect but even after she has done a lot of good, there isn't a chance that there will be a Republican president but,in the meantime, she has done a phenomenal service and I have seen two of her films.
She is a Woodsider with caring about the whole world and not just the life in her community. Too bad the people who write here are so hopelessly self involved and will just gloss this over.
My Dutch friend is now in Pretoria, S.A. and remarried and doing work for UNICEF and all children. No golf courses for him.
