Rail authority slammed for lax oversight of contracts

The agency charged with building a high-speed rail system violated state law when it awarded contracts for information-technology services without going through the mandatory bidding process, State Auditor Elaine Howle said.

It just keeps get better and better -- can you say boondoggle.

When will officials wake up, end this fiasco, and stop wasting money.

Why all the fuss?

It is only a couple of million dollars in blatantly illegal IT contracts. Meanwhile Rich Gordon just voted for another $70 million so among other things, high speed rail board members can do "field research" in Bordeaux.
