Hiker reports mountain lion sighting

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office received a report of a mountain lion sighting in the Portola Valley area on Saturday morning.

Noise is huge. I just read an article about a mountain lion in southern CA that was scared off by the sheriff's siren. Wouldn't it be nice if our law enforcement would do that? Yea yea, I know, we wouldn't know that it ran far from people. For those of you in PV, Woodside, etc that don't realize it, these wild creatures walk just out of our site all the time. They are usually too good at hiding for us to see them.

Have there been any reports of the lions attacking horses in pasture?
