Our family has lived in Atherton since the 1050's. Because Atherton has no 'downtown,' it would be nice to have the library left with other town buildings. This would allow Atherton to retain its center.
The park operates from 'dawn to dusk' ? Would library hours be limited? It would add to the park's parking problem. If you continue to allow more and more things to be built in the park - there will be no open space left.
Please think carefully before moving this successful, well used library. The current library site has served us well. Consider adding a second floor.
To add more clutter to a beautiful park seems a poor choice.
Thank you!

Carlson and Widmer voiced concern over the speed with which the committee was moving and urged MORE PUBLIC COMMENT before decisions were firmed up.
Had the aforementioned comments been relative to the current OUTSOURCING DEBACLE and not THE NEW TOWN LIBRARY, the (two)council members would have been doing their jobs.
But they weren't, and they are not.
