One of my favorite movie scenes is near the opening of "Michael Clayton." It's the middle of the night and George Clooney (an attorney) has just been called to the home of one of his firm's richest clients. The client is in the kitchen and explains that he just hit a bicycle rider and fled the scene. After Clooney explains that the only option is to get a criminal lawyer and call the police as soon as possible, the phone rings.

The client points to the phone and says "that's the police, isn't it?"

Clooney says, "No. They don't call."

If the police really want to speak with someone at Facebook about a crime, I assure you they won't use the telephone.
