Michael- I just posted a comment about this on another thread. Here's my comment:
While Contra Costa County is arresting criminal cops, now the new Santa Clara DA, Jeff Rosen, is pulling prosecutors who commit egregious misconduct from cases.
Top headline in Mercury News today: Print version says " DA Pulls Prosecutor From Case."

You will NEVER see Wagstaffe do this. Instead he defends prosecutors like Al Giannini, who has already been found by the California Bar to have withheld evidence from THREE cases and has been sanctioned. Wagstaffe ALWAYS defends his prosecutors, deputies and sheriffs - even when it's clear they've committed criminal misconduct .
While other counties are wising up, San Mateo is entrenched in its corrupt ways. Something has to change.
This says it all: in February, new Santa Clara DA Jeff Rosen attended a talk given by the Northern California Innocence Project on prosecutorial misconduct.
Then we have San Mateo prosecutor Al Giannini, who was singled out in a recent study for committing misconduct in THREE cases. Not only did Giannini not attend the talk, but he was quoted in the Merc as saying that the Innocence Project was like "Holocaust deniers."
I think I have only written one letter to District Attorney James P. Fox about one of his prosecutors lying to the jury, and misstating case law, and knowingly making false statements about his star eye witness.
That was San Mateo prosecutor Al Giannini.
He did change his closing argument statements......it was to late

San Mateo County did not get a choice in our last election, Steve Wagstaffe ran unopposed.
