Flood Park closure hasn't led to crime spike yet

When the county first said that Flood Park might have to close permanently, residents worried about their safety as well as the loss of a popular community resource. Twenty-one acres of empty space in the middle of a neighborhood seems like a prime target for crime.

This article has no merit at this time. The concern is when the park is completely closed, void of any regular presence such as workers or families using the park for its intended purposes. Boarded up properties are just a challenge and a lure for unwanted/unlawful activity.
