Menlo Atherton Bear bats come out of hibernation

The Bears bats come out of hibernation to beat Aragon 16-6 at home. The Menlo Atherton varsity baseball team had 13 hits by 10 different players for a season high team average of 433. Ryan Cortez hit his 3rd home run of the season for 3 RBIs and Dylan Cook hit 2 singles for 4 RBIs. Casey Eason set the tone for the game leading off with a double, advancing on a single by Kyle Zirbes, and scoring on a sac fly by Miles Brewer. Miles pitched 4 solid innings giving up only single runs in the first and the 4th for the win. Ryan Cortez pitching in relief held Aragon to only four more runs with 3 strike outs and the help of his defense with a 7th inning double play by Alex Aguiar (SS) to Will Lyons (2B) to Brady Coggins (1B). The Bears improved their overall record to 9-6 and league record to 3-4.
