With no disrespect to the new fire chief, it's too bad that Woodside didn't explore other options for sharing services much like San Bruno and Millbae did in their move to work with Central County Fire.

Sadly Woodside will be the last department in the county to explore consolidation because they already enjoy the benefits of consolidation without the cost via the current auto response arrangements. However, it won't be too long before the other agencies realize that Woodside gets much more auto aid than it provides to others.

I would to send my congrats to Chief Ghiorso. I met Chief Ghiorso when he came to Woodside Fire as a cadet. Dan has worked his entire career at Woodside to better the District and the communities. He has a hard road ahead of him, but I know he will do a great job. Nicely done Dan!!! R.M. Pereira, Woodside Fire District, Fire Captain (Retired)
