Carlmont turns the tables on the M-A Varsity baseball team

Original post made by Linda Lange, Menlo-Atherton High School, on Apr 8, 2011

The tables were turned as the Menlo-Atherton Bears Varsity Baseball team falls to Carlmont in the 7th inning just as Carlmont fell to MA on Wednesday. Carlmont bats were lively but 10 of 18 balls to the outfield were caught for outs. One was a home run by Colton Hicks in the top of the 4th matched by Ryan Cortez of the Bears in the bottom of the inning. Nick Lange, the starting Bears pitcher, gave up 3 hits and 3 runs in the first 6 innings leaving in the top of the 7th after 2 singles. Relief pitcher Dylan Cook, giving up only 3 hits, hung tough through 5 unearned runs and 4 errors. Good news for the Bears, Sam Falkenhagen, who started the year 0 for 22, has gone 5 for 9 with 3 doubles in the last 3 games. The Bears record is 2-4 in league games and 8-6 overall.
