Bake sale fundraiser for Red Cross Tsunami Relief

Original post made by Carol E. , Portola Valley: Ladera, on Mar 19, 2011

Our kids have set up a table at the Ladera Shopping Center with baked treats and hot drinks, to raise money for the Red Cross in Japan. Please stop by and treat yourself! They are eager to help people in Japan.

We have brownies, gluten free brownies, and a variety of home-made cookies for a minimum donation of 50ยข, and hot cocoa and various teas for $1.

Thanks for your support! We'll be here until about 4:30 today, (Saturday), and may be here again tomorrow or later in the week.

The money for the ingredients would be far more useful and expeditious. People are starving and no ONE agency is getting help directly to people.
Even the Red Cross does not advise sending money to them. They suggest you investigate the sources daily.
Bake sales are not enough no matter how good the intentions, however, this is something which must come from the pockets and the hearts of people.Bake sales turn into social clatches.
