Menlo-Atherton Varsity loses to Capuchino in a 1 run game

A disappointing final score for the MA Varsity baseball team who needed just one more .....against Capuchino who won at home 2-1 on March 17. It was a good news bad news game for the Bears who made no errors for the first game this season BUT had only 3 hits and a miniscule team batting average of 115 against winning pitcher Cordova. Yet Ryan Cortez blasted the first home run of the season and Cam Winn hit a double for his second consecutive game, BUT 5 men were left on base. The MA defense cut down 3 runners, one trying to stretch a single into a double, another in a run down going to the plate and a third thinking the ball on a pick off attempt was AWOL then got cut down at second, BUT they struck out looking 4 times and swinging another 3 times. Ryan Cortez pitched a good game BUT got little run support. Good things to build on. Go Bears. Beat Washington on Saturday
