UC Berkeley took fourth place in a reputation ranking of universities worldwide published March 10 in Times Higher Education magazine and reported on by The Guardian in the UK.

Harvard took the top spot in the reputation ranking, followed by MIT and the University of Cambridge. Stanford took fifth place behind Berkeley.

The ranking, powered by Thomson Reuters, is based on a survey of 13,388 academics in 131 countries. It is the largest evaluation of academic reputation and is used among other indicators to compile the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
