I hope the Guild reopens and soon! It's the last theatre we have in the city, and I've seen quite a few films there over the years including The Gods Must Be Crazy in its record 1 year run there. I remember a time when downtown had 3 theatres (Guild, Park, and the Menlo), and I sure hope we can keep the Guild!!

The owner of this theatre, Sandy Crittenden has made various critical comments about the Atherton police department and wanting to outsource it. I suggest that no one patronize this establishment to send a message to Mr. Crittenden that Atherton residents overwhelmingly support our police department.

Supporting:

Mr. Crittenden is within his rights to cricize you of the APD. APD has a lot to be criticized for. I'm betting if they conducted that survey today the approval rating wouldn't be as high as the outdated survey that everyone refers to.

I hope the guild reopens. because if it doesn't there will be just 2 theaters left. The aquarius on emerson and the palo alto square. This is sad because when I came to menlo park over
40 years ago we had over 5 theaters in a 15 mile radious. there was the bijou on the other side of emerson street, fine arts on california avenue, varsity on university now borders, the park theater on el camino in menlo park, and there used to be a theater on santa cruz avenue in menlo park where the left bank restaurant is now. shame to see our theaters being lost one by one for one reason or another.

All of the Menlo Park theaters were once owned by Sandy Crittenden's parents--sure hope what happened to the Park does NOT happen to the Guild.

Brilliant suggestion. At a time when unemployment is high and stores are having trouble staying in business, you suggest boycotting local businesses.

Exactly where do you think those tax dollars come from that pay the your police officers?
