Letter: Can ticketed parkers use council's ethics defense?

In regard to your recent article entitled "Four of five Menlo council members skipped ethics training:" In a city that ruthlessly and eagerly fines and holds accountable in hard dollars and annoyances its citizens and visitors for one minute or one inch of a parking violation, the City Council's discounting of their own failures to follow state laws by years is, to be polite, underwhelming.

Here here John! You are certainly not alone in your frustration with both the council and the city's parking enforcement. They don't seem to realize that it is hurting downtown businesses.

The city must run itself off of those parking ticket revenues--it just a way too disguise salary increases and rising pension costs against the budget--they don't care one bit about how it effects the public's desire to park and do business downtown.
I got a 100$ ticket for taking my 87 year old (and very slow moving) father for a bowl of soup at Draegers.
