Fergusson, who corrupted the original vote, with her Brown act violation, should have never been allowed to vote for the new mayor or vice mayor. The re-vote is also corrupted.
The City attorney should have never allowed Fergusson to continue to participate in the selection, which she corrupted for personal ambition and gain, in the first place.
We still don't know the full story. Keith, nay well have committed a Brown act violation also, having talked to Cohen and communicated with Fergusson, (maybe others?), committing to vote for her.
A Council cannot function without the support of the voters who sent them to office. Right now, many voters who put Ohtaki into office, have been shoved aside. Andy Cohen has simply been slapped squarely in the face. This just should not be allowed to be shoved under the covers.
Hopefully the DA will take some action. However, for sure the citizens of Menlo Park can and should take action. A recall petition should be started. Fergusson has simply stepped way over the line. As a former supporter, I am just disgusted.
What is needed is is the kind of support that Measure L got. Lets get this Council going on the right foot.
