Atherton: Widmer tops list of winners; Carlson, Dobbie re-elected

Bill Widmer, who campaigned on promises of improving communications between the town of Atherton and residents and establishing financial stability and accountability in town government, was the top vote-getter in yesterday's City Council election, with incumbents Jerry Carlson and Jim Dobbie coming in second place and third place, respectively.

Just wondering, per the article, Bill Widmer has been "[a] member of the town's Audit Committee and an active participant in its Finance Committee." What has he done or what recommendations did he make while in that role to address the 1 million structural deficit Atherton now has? It seems he was already part of the system so how is this a "fresh approach?"

Sounds to me like they didn't want a fresh look at the books. Glad I don't pay Atherton taxes.
