Think there 'Oughta be a Law'?

State Sen. Joe Simitian, D-Palo Alto, is inviting California residents to submit ideas for state legislation in his 10th annual "There Oughta Be A Law" contest. Proposals to repeal or modify a law are also accepted. Deadline for entries is Nov. 1.

Joe Simitian would deserve more respect if his contest was "There Ought Not Be a Law" to propose the abolition of ridiculous and unneeded statutes.
