Voter's Guide: Six vie for three seats on Menlo Park City Council

Original post made on Oct 16, 2010

Four years ago, six candidates vied for three seats on the Menlo Park City Council, and this year is no different. But breaking the candidates down into camps was easier back then. In 2010 about the only way to divvy up the candidates is by experience: Incumbents vs. Newcomers.

Hank, I couldn't help but notice that Ohtaki, Bernstein, and the No on T folks have all declined to tout your endorsement of their causes. Why do you think that is?

The Almanac's endorsements got it right:
Cline, Robinson and Ohtaki (with Kirsten Keith as a close runner up.)
Yes on T.
Yes on L.

We can't afford to have two or three new councilmembers getting on-the-job training, especially not just as HSR and ECR/Downtown are reaching their critical moment in the next year or so. Nothing will leave a more indelible imprint on our City for the next 100 years. The experience point actually cuts for Kirsten, but the Almanac wanted balance - to fill Boyle's seat with someone like Boyle which makes sense).

Once these 3 Councilmembers take their seats on Council, L will have already been decided, as well T.

It's HSR and ECR/Downtown that are the really major issues, folks.

Ask yourself who can do the best job on those major issues, and not set us back months or years, thus costing more in taxpayer dollars redoing things...

Then VOTE!
