Atherton - Opportunity for renewal

Original post made by peter carpenter, Atherton: Lindenwood, on Oct 16, 2010

With the resignations of both the Town Manager and the Assistant Town Manager, the decision to appoint a new Town Attorney and an election for three of the five seats on the Town Council the citizens of Atherton have a unique and real opportunity for renewal. Hopefully each of us will vote in the forthcoming election and many will apply to participate in the selection of the new Town attorney and the new Town Manager.

Atherton is a wonderful community but we citizen all too often take our local government for granted and many of us fail to participate in the care and nurturing of our community. Now is the time to get involved.

Vote.
Go to Council meetings and speak out on issues of importance.
Apply to serve on Town committees, including the forthcoming Town Attorney and Town Manager selection committees.
Join your neighborhood association.
Join the Atherton Civic Interest League.
Join the Atherton Disaster and Preparedness Team (ADAPT).

Together we can renew our community.
