Conlon, Gordon vie for Assembly District 21 seat

Original post made on Oct 7, 2010

Democrat Rich Gordon and Republican Greg Conlon, rivals for the California State Assembly District 21, agree upon one thing -- that they disagree on most everything, except perhaps high-speed rail.

I wouldn't vote for this person even if he has got my name.
He plays too much with the rich and powerful and barely does anything except play favorites for his "sponsors".
His staff was also the most incompetent crew and I doubt if he could assemble a group as an Assemblyman.

Dear R. Gordon,

It is a shame that you share a name with Superisor Rich Gordon because you two could not be more different. Rich Gordon is a gentleman, an hard worker, who studies each issue carefully, listens to input from all sides, and who takes pride in representing ALL the people in his district. Contrary to your off-base accusation, his staff is dedicated, knowledgeable, and extraordinarily capable. They are deservedly proud of the work they work they do for us, their constituents. They do not engage in vitriolic diatribes against those with whom they disagree. Perhaps you could learn a lesson on demeanor from Rich Gordon and his staff ...

I tend to agree with Mr. Gordon (of another community). I have met the Supervisor on a few occasions. Each time he came across as condescending and self-serving. I would respectfully disagree with Oakdell Manor Voter in his/her opinion of the Supervisor; obviously we had very different experiences.

I don't plan to vote for Mr. Gordon as I see him as yet another politician headed for Sacramento to get lost in the mix and certainly someone associated with and endorsed by too many labor unions.

Gordon's campaign money comes from the likes of people who want him in a position to do their bidding.
What has he accomplished other than okay building permits for a LOT of Woodside millionaires (formerly really rich before the bust) and he does not acknowledge most of the citizens who gripe about him being a "photo op campaigner".....He is no Harvey Milk who served the city of San Francisco as a totally honest politician.Because Mr. Gordon runs as the only openly gay candidate is supposed to bring him political clout in these times of unfair abuse. That should not be a point in politics. His work should speak for him.Not his sexual preference. His work is, at best, self serving but helpful to those who have given so much to his campaign.
TO EDITOR: My point is very much related to the issue.DO NOT SAY I AM OFF SUBJECT LIKE YOU ARE WONT TO DO.
